CRAG-VT CRACK COMP

Come to Petra Cliffs in Burlington VT for an afternoon of crack climbing to benefit our local climbing organization CRAG-VT! There is a crack intro clinic for the first hour to learn techniques with an instructor and then a crack boulder comp, crack challenges and the crack wrestling machine!

We will set a variety of different crack boulders, folks will be placed in a hand-size category and the top 3 participants who send the most boulders in their category by 4:30pm will make the podium. Attempts will be recorded in case of tie breakers

Hand size categories

Category #1  - “Small Hands”

• Performs above average on “thin hand cracks”
• Measures closest to 1 ½ inches

Category #2 - “Average Hands”

• Performs above average on “#2 camelot hand cracks”
• Measures closest to 1 3/4 inches

Category #3 - “Large Hands:"

• Performs above average on “cupped hand cracks”
• Measures closest to 2 1/8 inches

*Our aim is for competitors to self-select the category that makes the most sense for them, a chart will be provided on the back of the scorecard, as well as cracks on the wall in the three size categories to use as a metric.

The cost of paricipating is $20 per person. Some of the proceeds will go to CRAG-VT so folks are encouraged to pay more if they can.
